Following a recent agreement between the United States and Iran, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has notified its clients that they can once again begin loading crude oil shipments from its facilities located at Das and Zirku islands in the Persian Gulf. This decision comes as a result of improved conditions and the expectation that maritime traffic through the critical Strait of Hormuz will remain uninterrupted.
ADNOC has made it clear that crude oil has been ready for loading since April 27, and the company emphasized that any failure to collect scheduled shipments could potentially constitute a breach of contractual agreements. To assist buyers who may be experiencing shipping difficulties, ADNOC has offered support through its own or affiliated tanker fleets.
This announcement is part of broader efforts by Gulf oil producers to restore normal export operations following disruptions in the region. ADNOC, recognized as one of the most active oil exporters in the area, has already conducted sales of tens of millions of barrels through tenders to maintain its export momentum.
In a strategic move to mitigate reliance on the Strait of Hormuz, the United Arab Emirates is actively working on expanding alternative export routes. The country is fast-tracking infrastructure projects to increase pipeline capacity leading to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. This development is aimed at enabling more crude oil exports to bypass the strategic and often contentious waterway, thereby enhancing the security and reliability of its oil supply routes.
